EDM Challenge # 200 My Talisman

Left click to see the words...this spread
had a true story to tell in 75 words or less.
I worked all day on it even if the basic sketch
seems simple it still took me quite awhile
to like it---I rearranged it several times.
I sure thought this challenge had so many
ways to go and am anxious to see what
comes in--they all have to be so interesting

Really wonderful!! i love the travel worn feeling to this spread.

Okay, I have to ask: are the corner studs drawn or real metal studs???

Thank you for the comment! They are flat "bling" jewels---come on a paper and you take them off to stick on---reminds me of old fashioned candy papers with the different colored dots of candy to peel off...bought in a scrapbook supply store here. Winna Jill

Your journal pages are so beautiful. I love the layers and complexity - something I'm not so good at :)

Winna, this is one of the nicest illustrated journal spread I have ever seen. And your bear fetish gave me an idea, since I couldn't think of anything "lucky" to draw in my house. I guess I don't think of him as lucky, more as safeguarding or inspiring. Anyway, I love the way you incorporated your text, and the border is wonderful. Hmmm. Where DID the slug come from?

it happened as I said---it just materialized from thin air---making the settling noise so I looked over (I was at the table about 6 feet away)---even if I was there and witnessed this, I still can not make any sense of it, except as it sure proves some other dimention exists and I guess that's a comforting thought--I'll tell you the border is some scrapbook paper I glued on over a turquoise jeweled colored pencilc border I did not like, I had started---so it meant 'cover up' time. I did use the pencil color of the turquoise on the paper to make it harmonious and added the tiny flat bling jeweled stickers--did you post yours yet?????? Winna Jill

What do you use to color your drawings? I see colored pencil sometimes and then it looks like watercolor in places - do you use different things. I'd especially like to know about how you did this one.

I LOVE YOUR WORK!
