"I Remember Mama"

The French words say:

"This is a test page " in a journal I found up

in the studio that appeared to be like a

Moleskine with lines, which I had been

wanting to try, liking what I had seen

Katherin Jebsen-Marwedel do . So I did

testing on a full back door page and

this I Remember Mama on an 'up front' spread.

I found the Pitt pens did not bleed through,

and the waterpencils and water brush worked

ok, if you are sparing with the water

amount....but the page is a bit thinner

than the Moleskine and probably would

not bother a pencil or pen artist. Or

straight text journaler. I did have to go back

and add the lines that got lost in the colors.

So since I know I won't use this, I am offering it

as a freebee---leave a comment and when

the name is drawn after there's enough

interest, I will email the winner for the

address to mail it to...

I left a comment for Marancat that sailed off to some far sea of mists and rising tides--so here goes again, I always look forward to her coments as they are most discriptive which makes us both feel good......

Oh Winna,
This is so wonderful! I am getting ready to go on a trip to see my Mama who has had to go into a nursing home. I so wish I had thought of this and prepared one so while there I could make notes on this visit and then reminise backward from there. I still can make the notes and do something when I get home. Thanks so much for the inspiration I would love to own the book

Thanks for your email with the link to your blog page. The "I Remember Mama" cover art is great and as usual your art tends to make the viewer stop and fire up ones imagination. I sure am interested what you come up with for the final art cover.

Another great spread! Do you have a French connection? You seem at ease in the writing, as if it's in your
ancestry.

John,
No French ancestry, but like John Astin in The Adam's family. I am captivated to hear it spoken in songs or anytime when it sounds come hithery---I am Coast of Maine English, Scotch , Irish---guess that's a Yankee with dry humor a turn on, and as stubborn as the rockbound coast of Maine. winna

I think Wilson will be very upset if the book leaves...but maybe if it ended up right down the street he wouldn't be as upset!

^^ Eventhough it's just a test, it's still a nice looking test! :) I am starting to wonder why are people here keep giving out free stuff? Are you guys all super-rich and driving a Ferrari to groceries stores or something?
:p

This is a spread that is right up there with your usual clever, whimsical, beautiful work. I checked out Katrin Jebson Marwedel's flickr site. I can see she is a kindred spirit to you Winna.

Oh for the chance to have an original Winna I don't know that I would ever feel good about defacing your journal with my poor little scratches-

This is full of charm and cleverness...love the back door! :)

Thanks for sharing the idea of this 'back door' for a journal. It is a neat way of organizing some experiments and leaving tracks of what you used/liked.

I learned the term Back Door of the journal from Jessica Wesolek in the beginner's Love This Journal course--which I reccommend to all new commers. Winna
