"Three Afloat"

A while back I would have worked this
into a bigger acrylic painting---but have
not the energy,
so I am thrilled to be able
to complete a journal spread, instead.
The woman is modeling for me even
if she doesn't know it, as I take
a photo from the car. As I have
no other photos of her I can only
get a vague likeness. I know she is the
Captain's wife and sells tickets
for Whale Watch Cruises. Also she
was very kind helping me with
phone use---She was the kind of
person you can laugh with---I like that.
There's a dream like quality with the
windjammer, star shell and mysterious
red ball hovering in this space.

She has a patient resignedness about her. Love the wooden slats especially and the splashes of red.

The best 'poses' are those that aren't posed if that makes sense!
It's a great spread and I love the layout and the border.
I can't draw people, so I'm particularly impressed.

Lovely, relaxed pose and I like the collection of objects around her. :-)
