Fred Says

Sunday June 1 2008
Fred says: "Here I am, ready to pitch for the
Red Sox with a goodly amount of
neckware to fly around when I throw those
98 mph change ups.

Blibber Blabber

May's End
Saturday May 31st 2008

One more memorial Day shot--same boy
with his father reading Dr Seuss's
Fox in Socks, which may make
him squirm and turn
and grab the flag
that's near the bag
where puppies wag
their curly tails
when they tip over colored pails
WHEW................
ended here, is my nonsense tale!
You can not end it
No you can't..
Forever,
you must rave and rant
and never rest till you are done
with all the words
that are so fun.
And this of course. will never be
so talk you will, eternally...
(Jill)
***********
Fox in Socks is a children's book by Dr. Seuss,
first published in 1965. It features
two main characters, the Fox and
Mr. Knox, who converse almost entirely
in densely rhyming tongue-twisters.
The book in some ways bears a
resemblance to Green Eggs and Ham,
another book by Dr. Seuss. Both
stories contain two main characters:
one who is stubborn and wants to
be left alone; the other, a persistent
and sometimes annoying opposite

The Candidate

'"Can't a bird eat their breakfast in peace?

I'll answer your idiotic questions when I'm

finished.".....and so it goes with the bird

politicians and their paparazzi.

Market Flowers

Wednesday the 28th May 2008 I include this photo for future generations
to see how the plant sales crop up all
over the place in the Springtime.
This is at the Big Y, but numerous small places set
out displays that make you smile. I wish the sellers
came home with you and planted them as the
May flies are out there just waiting for me.

MEMORIAL DAY FLAG HOLDER

Tuesday the 27th of May, 2008
Here's a little boy watching the parade downtown.
I love the hands in this photo, as they say
to me, that the responsible father is not going to let the
child poke any body's eye out !

Fighting Fuschias

Aren't they such awesome flowers!

Playing around with the photo was

fun.

Sunday, May 25, 2008

Well, Hello, there.....

Monday the 26th of May
Sitting on a bench with hot coffee cooling
beside me and wondering what I can photo
from this position---then, VOILA! my shadow
is there waving to me, so I took a photo to
prove it.....

The Fish That Ate........

Sunday May 25th 2008
Made me laugh to see this photo of
Cydonia exploring his fish cave type thingy.
You know how cats love to go inside paper bags,
anything tipped over and apparently fish.
Ellie's friend took the photo.

Corey

Monday the 19th of May 2008
My grandson, Corey asked me to take
some photos of him today. This is
my son Kent's youngest child. They sure
grow up fast and it's a pleasure to
be able to do something for him.

Growing Up

Saturday May 24 2008

Here's a layer type collage technique I
kept trying to figure out this past week..
and finally got it to happen. This trial and error
education sometimes works. This is my brother
back in the 1940's with a family kitten.
***************
I am working to get a job done for my class
reunion where I am to create a presentation
for the ones who have passed
on , which numbers ten. I am
doing ten special composites
which will have additions
of what was written in the
year book, like a memo, on
the composites of each one.
It is a sad job as I speak to each
one, but find it very worthwhile.
I'll have them laminated at Staples
and will make them into a presentation
book for all to look at and remember.

Back Side

Thursday May 22 2008

Another 'guess where' in town---
it shouldn't take too long to figure this out.
That brick work has been around for a long
long time, I would imagine. How many
times the steps were taken for various
reasons.......

Drunken Bird ?

Wednesday May 21 2008Redwing slurs: "Show me the way to go home....."
I noticed this am, that another all black
bird also walked this way, so I'm thinking
I have misjudged the poor fellows
and this is some sort of dance routine.

Tagged Treasure

Tuesday May 20th 2008
A great tag sale find last week
where the tag sale CEO said, I
don't know what I've got that you might
want except this ceramic hand???
I said "That has my name on it !"
Thank you Mary, for each year
being the perfect hostess....

Shadow Play

Sunday May 18 2008
Taken yesterday as I looked for shots where
I usually find some and the lighting was
different than before. I'm letting the
Staffordites guess where this is.

Can you hear Anthony Newly?

Saturday the 17th May 2008
My first two visitors to the hat feeder
I had on the table 2 days before it was
"discovered". So they came yesterday
in the rain......

Cover Me Stories

Friday May 16th 2008
What is this all about?

It is a cover idea

to be filed now, for a series of short stories

when I finish enough of them.

They may end up

in a journal or remain mysteriously undisclosed.

Trial Smile

Thursday May 15th 2008
A page from a journal I am working on
where I used my own photographs
with this result. I did not have a clue
when cutting out the dog, what the
page would be about---but that glove
on the back steps I took Mother's Day,
seemed to want to be used---and
then things fell into place.

Heard Bird

Wednesday May 14th 2008
Here's the Mom or Dad with the nest in the
porch beams this year---here he is calling
attention to himself so I will keep away from
where ever the nest is.

Fushia Fiesta !

Tuesday May 13 2008

Mother's Day from Kurt---

these flowers look unreal

...they are so vivid and

their construction so complex.

Mother Nature outdid herself

over and over again with flowers.

Seven Marbles

Monday May 12 2008
This is a close up shot of a beeswax collage
and in experimenting with different shutter
speeds and ISOs--the marbles came out this
way---all those 7 highlights are a mystery.
Maybe I should go up to Foxwood
Casino today and play 7's all day long
till I win enough to buy a studio/place
on the coast! (with housekeeper,
and handyman)

Mary Cordelia Field Fowler

Sunday May 11 2008
I surely miss my mother and how
she cared about me. I think this photo
was her high school graduation photo...
The smaller
photo looks like her mother but
isn't. During her last three years
after her stroke, I would go to Maine
to be with her on Mother's Day,
which I felt my children did not
understand.

GUESS WHERE

Saturday may 10th 2008
A photo from the 'door' collection I
have---I'm wondering if the Stafford
people recognise this place---most of them
have seen it many times and perhaps recall
going inside when it was open-----that's
all the hint I'm giving out......

Special Violettes

Friday May 9th 2008
A photo I took today out in the yard---that
I have altered in three different sites--
to me this looks like a cool Lucite box edge
or a piece of jewelry. I like how it looks like
you could run your fingers over it's
edges like flower braille .

Huge Shade Tree

Thursday May 8th 2005
To think this was a spindly sapling
Francis brought home one day----
and now has the look of having
been in my yard since Colonial times !

Maine Roses

Wednesday May 7 2008
This photo was taken of the Ruga Rosa
wild red roses yesterday. The new
bright green spring leaves are opening while
the fall rose hips still hold on. This reminds
me of my own life's cycle. Each year
I watch these Roses, loving the fact that
they come from the coast of Maine.
They are as sturdy as the rocks and
like the tides, return bringing joy.

Bird Sketches

Tuesday May 6 2008
Here's a page for my sketch journal I am
compiling---I usually used a very simple
box of basic watercolors---a pencil, eraser and
and fine point pen . It seemed to be able
to do everything I needed, especially for
sketch book things. I've always liked
birds in my work.

Dad Tribute

Monday May the 5th 2008
Since this blog is for my children,
I am including the "Dad" set up
that I imagine they will appreciate.
I just so completely turned the
living room from what it looked like
(a nursing home) for years that
I felt the need to add this for them
In the many months it has been there
no one has mentioned liking it etc.
Ah well..........

Garden Angel

Sunday May 4th 2008
I took this photo of a garden statue because
of the sharp contrasts the
shadows created---I can see many uses for
this image in my work even if I
think the horn looks like a funnel
someone stepped on !

STAR COW

Sat May 3rd 2008
One of my small paintings I love for
how the cow looks special with that
star---I miss all our cows now and
wish I had good camera equipment when
they were around . Of course I took
a photo of her out of the car window,
and decided to leave the barn in the
scene to frame her head. She
appears in the mood to be
interviewed---what a mooving
experience that would be. In our
family we all had license plates
with Moo on them---the parents
(Francis and I) had Moo 1----
then there was Moo Too,
Moo 3, Moo 4 and Moo 5.
Well, I'll moove on now.....
see you tomorrow.

Seeing Spring Signs

Friday May 2nd 2008
So Spring has finally come to Spring Street
in Stafford Springs !
I'd like to sit out on that balcony type porch
with good cup of coffee and good
conversation with Historical Society
(this is where they are located)
member looking over the Stafford Springs
area with stories to tell.
