Pumpkin at Three O'Clock

I am posting two photos of the finished
watercolor as the scan one on top, comes out
very blue and the photo below is the more natural color...
this lets me see how adding some blue
might look..it's the complimentary  color
of the pumpkin and to me it adds
more punch to what I am after here..
how the light at 3 in the afternoon hit
the pumpkin yesterday
 and how the pumpkin color
showed through the seat holes...
...rang a bell
in my mind and I HAD to capture
what a bang it was to me.
So, I think the top scanned one
says more of how I 'felt' about
what I saw...

Oh that pumpkin POPs in the top bluer background… still nice in the bottom photo… but given a choice I'd choose the top one.

not many blue farm building out there tho ... but I see the
top, darker one, as the better.
Well you asked.

You did exactly the right thing...adding blue...I'm just now realizing how complimentary colors make each other pop...slow learner!!Dee

People don't realize how much influence the reproduction process has on their work. This is a wonderful example.

That's why some of the art books that have their work reproduced as fine as possible...cost so much...they use they use the right paper and the right process.. and the right place...
