On the chimney top across the street, there are
usually a flock of pigeons sitting, visiting, coming or
going. So to see just one made me wonder
how lonesome he might be or perhaps happy to
rule the roost if only momentarily...........

---that sure is a pigeon and the first photo is in early morning fog---there are doves, too---maybe they moved?
this guy, Perry Pigeon, has the warm chimney all to him self. Birds arn't dumb they know where the warm is.
