Sunrise In My Cup

Been awhile since I posted here as I use
my flicker site mostly---see to the left how to click on it.
In a few days I will upload this same painting there...
Up early in the am outside taking  photos
and as I walked back into the house I
saw my coffee cup on the old bench
with deep shadows and the  color of  the sunrise looked to
be there...stopped me in my tracks and became a journal
page pretty quickly...it amazes me in that
that may be a rare occurance..

Botched Intentions

The photo pretty much spells it out and
 left clicking photo should bring
it up easier to read.
What puzzles me is.... why is there
even a crumb, let alone a bite, left on the plate?

A Red Touch

I stopped after three additional

red add ons....Natually, Papa Hoodoo

liked his name there best....he said the Voodoo

blood drops might be too scary

and the heart wasn't edgy

enough... I forgot to say I tried my

new Noodlers fountain type

pen on this assignment and liked

the feel of it...used Noodler's

Lexington Gray ink. I read where

you can add water to make it lighter gray...

The Poet's View

This is in Ireland when the bus broke down---our little class
had time to do some quick sketching and I added
color to mine back at the hotel. Probably the first scenic
I have ever done that I can recall..but those
patchwork fields demanded it of me and
the poem also begged me to write
it all down--what is happening each
day I am way over there in Ireland.
Before I return home I plan to show
you the poem which I can not think of nor read
without it getting to me...
and so I sat on the ancient stone bench
and started to feel the words..

"IRISH JUMPING HAIR'

LEFT CLICK TO READ BETTER

"Sitting Boat"

click on photo to see words better
this is the inside front cover of a new sketchbook
which will contain mostly Ireland memories of
a trip I took and now I am taking an Imaginary one in
an on-class with Laure Ferlita....
I am doing the work on watercolor paper
and gluing it into this blank journal
bought years ago..
this particular sketch was started with
watercolor pencils but completed with
my acrylics I am more comfortable
using..
It's funny what will stay in your
memory forever---but this old boat
suddenly there... close to the road instead of
being far away across the
sweeping field to my left in
the sea.....
well that was awesome to me, being
in Ireland at the time...

Red Moon Over Second Empire

The altered photo I thought
would give the players a hard time....

I mught as well have used this one
One of my favorite old Victorian houses in town

which I just used in my facebook "guess where" photos

for local people to enjoy..I did disguise it to make

it a challenge and they got it right

off anyway. I love Second Empire

architecture..

crepes and crikey

Above is my breakfast today---some wonderful crepes made with whole wheat
flour (from Cooks .com) filled with flavored lite cream cheese and chopped
walnuts....topped with lite syrup, more nuts and bit of parsley for color
seems heavenly to find a way to enjoy such a treat that I can
make myself...looked better not sliced for a photo
*****************
then below I get a chance to use the English (Cockney?) term
"Crikey ! "---for not moving myself a bit when
taking this horse photo---to eliminate the
tall grass thing in front of his nozzle... my brother in law
was elected for 10 terms I believe
and found a new use for the political signs

"A Hearty Beginning"

Valentine's Day is for

Love to be tied

to one another

as a groom and a bride

***

The face on the plate

must congratulate

the couple who is married

on this date

*****************************

Here I post a sketch instead of

a photo--as time permitted

and the heart was willing.

***

My poem mentions the

face on the plate which

got there for the photo shoot as

I usually scan the area I am in

and spy something that I feel

will enhance the photo ..,this

amusing head was a recent find

that insisted I buy it...

"Sooooooo Good !"

I just had to blog about this lunch---it surprised me with
it's flavors...I used whole wheat bread, I Can't Believe Its Not Butter,
sugar free bread and butter pickles,
some jarred red pepper, Dubliner cheese (I stayed near
the place that makes this Irish cheese etc--they have a tower that
sticks up high and you can judge how close you
are to home after a day trip on the The Ring Of Kerry ) shredded,
and fresh sprig of Rosemary that smells good even if you
just look at it...it was cooked in a non stick electric fry
pan with cover 350 to 375---some cheese was
shredded in to the pan alongside the sandwich to
fry till you can turn it over and fry the otherside...
this went on top of the sandwich and I must advise you
to save these parts for last--they are such a treat..reminds
me of the famous Shady Glen burgers with the sides of
the burger having fried cheese hanging off them..
Picked up the heart plate yesterday--always
love red things and heart things and this all makes
life have a gladder heart...and how happy
I was that this was a lite lunch...
I usually limit cheese to about once a week
