CATCHER IN THE GARDEN

( Left click to see larger)

Of course, this first Spring growth must've
been there last week, but just yesterday it caught
my breath to see it. The enhancement of the
photo was done in two different programs with
the goal being to show the moment of eye catch
delight I experienced.
*****
I love to find the hidden faces
in the photo !

The Spring mate hunt is on!

A Robin photo from my brother came today
and I could not resist taking it
to PSP8 and playing with it---
the bird guy looks so bursting
with song and it shouldn't
take long for him to
attract a mate--above you see
a photo I took of one of the nests
they built last year on
my front porch amongst
a small collection of
bells...some visitors
like to ring them all
one after another---which
really gets my attention...

Scone, Spoon and Dog (card)

Click on photo to see it larger and read it better...
******************
Here's something I do, not very often for a friend--make them a card with one of my photos..this is for my brother who has two Border Collies and often will dog sit 2 others---he is a professional animal photographer and I love him to pieces. This particular breed (looks like Eddie on Frasier) I had bark in my house for three days till his owners returned....cute as heck but
I was sleep deprived and thrilled when they came home.

Morning Moon

I'm busy doing my Artist's Journal
but thought I'd post something I
found beautiful---this is 7:20 in the
am and you're seeing a morning moon.
When I notice one of these up there I
think I am seeing things at first...
I mean the sun has been up awhile
and here's the moon--and for the
camera to pick it up is a bonus.

How's It Look?

The first snow around here, really started
one night then through the next day making the
outside look like one huge Christmas Card
(this is what I see past the
fence, when I open the front
door) and seemingly halted shopping,
that needed doing, what with all the
things involved with get togeathers etc.
so, today when it calmed down, for
awhile anyway, it was run to the
store to get every possible
thing I could think I might need.
I'm all set now for the
festivities and now missing not getting
into a sketch---but did think alot
about the new Glass challenge...
I just opened the front door and saw the
ending of the days' final glow on the fence
and ran for my camera to catch this once in
a lifetime moment---it's like it is showing
me it's new dress and asking if I like it.

The Cookie Challenge prep stage

Here's the ingredients--now to NOT burn
them would be my goal at the moment.....!

Another chair photo for my collection

How I wished the white cat over to the
top right had been sittin on
the chair
--the photo would have
been more charming.
Something like this scene,
catches my eye as a moment
in time to be preserved for some future
sketch I may want to do. It does say
things if you look and listen--could this
be the tag end of a yard sale or aftermath
of a dispute---it does make me feel good
to be just driving by....and out of town
...this yellow VW I drive is soooo
spotable!

The Sill

Well, here is one of the corner kitchen sills
with the stapled greenery--plus,
old Mother Memory box and plump
pine cones showing. Under are
some of the pans I like to use for
popovers, corn sticks and muffins.
This was taken just now and boy,
is it ever blowing outside and not
all that cold, which is strange.
I didn't start out to make a card,
it just developed into one---
which surprised me.

Boss Turkey

I'll never forget the Turkey that jumped on my
car hood--making sure I'd stop before entering
my driveway for his mate to cross the street.

And here he is over on the roadside
starting to display himself as a thankyou
gesture---(oh right)
Nice feathers but.....

a face, only a mother could love...

Now and again, I bother to cook breakfast

Cooking Alone with Winna--(oxymoron?) I'm sure we've all read a delicious sounding recipe and had only some of the ingredients---this was the case here in the string shoot of Flaming Hot I Yi Yiiiii Corn Cheese Egg Somethingorother...which became "Jill's Cheese Egg Omelet"... using more butter than usual for me. I used Irish butter, two eggs, some Seriously Sharp Cheese and half an onion I had left over...I could make it again sometime and use the corn with some fiesta seasoning added--IF I get the urge. The onions cooked in butter
until very very brown made this extra good for me.

The reason in the first place, to take the photos was for a sketch spread

Nifty Nest

I guess the people that live here like the nest
as much as I do--this is the 2nd year I
photo'd it and see some plastic wrap has been
stuffed inside to keep it waspfree--It's
not close to photo (on an upper Eastport floor)
and to get this much detail
was a thrill and a half.

Sapphiresaki ?

this beautiful color caught my eye,
with the sun making it look like a
good sized jewel on some one's lawn.
Who do you think owns it?

Golden Sunset

When I was in Jessica's class and an assignment
was to photo skies with different lights, we never
had any sunrises or sunsets that particular week.
This sunset was last night and a long time
coming for sure. I am able to go out
on the back porch to get a quick shot where there is
nothing to silhouette against the glory of
the sky. A V formation of honking
Canada geese would
have been nice and I
heard them in the distance....
and anxiously waited for them
but they must have
been headed elsewhere.

Katy Doing ?

I love this photo by Sumner W Fowler
in Novato Cal. (my brother)..
he managed to get the Katydid
preening himself---herself?
Sumner is my mentor in photography
and has helped me all along the way.

Old Timers

Here's an extra for today---I saw these two old
Model T's when I went down town and made
a note to photo them on the way back --they
are in such disrepair but look great sitting there to me.
Of course coming home I forgot then
remembered so I stopped and doubled
back and got this shot I liked---I could work
out the roadside fence but it
adds to the sense of place I think.
I'd like one on the front lawn at
Christmas time with maybe
a big wreath on the door

"Its" a good thing...

A friend came to visit and left her

hat and Miattabroom. I thought the

hat looked like "It" on the Adams

family (?) when I put it on

the rabbit that is the official

greeter here, sitting there in

shadows with a breeze moving

the hair ever so slightly while the

cock is crowing in the distance,

calling out his every morning

soliloquy on companionship...he only

has about 6 in his harem at the

moment.

Lock your doors.......

Every once in a while I like to put

up a "guess what" type of photo.

I took this today and was

surprised to see this amount of

detail...such a cutie pie!

Fall Shadows

In all the years I have driven by here and taken photos,

today was the first time I timidly drove down into the driveway

to get this shot---it seemed so deserted and if

they saw me they sure knew the yellow VW was me

and wouldn't mind anyway. That tree is

so huge with it seems thousands of branches

lifting upwards---pretty awesome gathering

of shadows.

Can't Be Beat !

I saw this hanging on the side if an old shed
and was fascinated with all the textures,
shapes and the
cast shadow. I'll bet it could make
some yummy whipped cream for
dumplings made with
apples in the orchards nearby.
